4,182 kilometers through Europe in nine days, from Å on the Lofoten archipelago in Norway to Bée in northern Italy – Audi is proving the efficiency of its vehicles on the ‘Efficiency Challenge A to B.’ 120 journalists and customers of the brand are taking the wheel in 20 cars from five model series for the tour.

Audi will unveil three new vehicles at Frankfurt’s International Motor Show (IAA): the remarkably dynamic S5 Sportback, the extremely low-emission A4 3.0 TDI clean diesel quattro, and the especially efficient A3 1.2 TFSI. These innovative engines boast some very different key data, yet they share something in common: They embody Audi’s conviction that dynamics and efficiency are not mutually exclusive; on the contrary, they go hand in hand and are mutually complementary.

Audi releases 2010 Model Year pricing

  • Audi is the first car manufacturer in the U.S. to feature FSI direct injection technology in all of its gasoline engines.
  • Innovative 3D navigation with SIRIUS traffic on all models (except A8).
  • Two TDI clean diesel models launched within one calendar year in 2009.
  • All Audi models have available or standard LED daytime running lights.

Audi today released pricing for many of its 2010 model-year offerings, which are headed to authorized Audi dealerships to meet strong consumer demand.

Audi is adding a variety of new vehicles and product enhancements in its 2010 model year portfolio. Chief among the advances: Audi stands as the only automaker in the U.S. featuring efficient and performance-tuned FSI direct-injection technology with all of its gasoline-powered engines. Audi will also offer navigation as standard equipment for a limited time on 2010 Audi A6 Premium Plus models. And every Audi model will have distinctive LED daytime running lights as available or standard equipment.

Audi today released pricing for the 2010 model-year Audi A4 sedan, Audi A5 coupe and Audi Q5 crossover vehicle, which are headed to authorized Audi dealerships to meet strong consumer demand.

Audi moved sales of the 2010 models ahead a few weeks following a successful sell-down of the previous model-year inventory. Sales of the 2009 Audi A5, for example, finished June 168% ahead of the sales pace set a year earlier. Demand for the all-new Audi Q5 has been exceptionally strong since its February introduction to consumers with sales hitting 5,701 so far this year.

Audi expects a 9.1% share of June U.S. imported luxury vehicle sale

  • Audi vehicle sales equal 9.1% of U.S. imported luxury sector, based on preliminary totals for the month; second highest U.S. share in Audi history, after 9.2% in April 2009
  • Audi achieves best sales month of 2009
  • Audi Q5 continues to be popular with 1,324 sold this month; Q7 TDI clean diesel makes up just over 25% of total Q7 sales for June

Audi today announced that U.S. sales for the month of June reached 7,524 units, its best sales month of 2009. Despite an economic environment that remains challenging, Audi expects its market share will improve in June, to 9.1% based on preliminary industry figures.

Audi gets top ratings for safety

  • Audi A4 and Q5: five stars even in stricter Euro NCAP crash test
  • Top ratings for Audi Q5 and Audi A4 in US crash tests as well
  • Impressive and innovative passive safety and driver assistance systems

The latest Audi models have garnered top ratings for safety in four prestigious tests. The Audi A4 and Q5 achieved a top five-star rating in the new and more stringent Euro New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) safety tests. The U.S. National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) confirmed this outstanding collision performance and gave both cars a five-star rating in all categories. In addition, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a U.S. consumer protection organization, proclaimed the Audi Q5 its ‘Top Safety Pick’ – the best buy when it comes to safety.

DTM: Audi driver Oliver Jarvis again the quickest at Hockenheim

At the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg, Audi driver Oliver Jarvis clocked the first fastest lap time of the second official DTM test – just as he had done two weeks ago at Dijon-Prenois. There, the Briton also set the quickest lap time of the first morning session, with his Audi A4 DTM. Now, at the Hockenheimring’s 4.574-kilometre Grand Prix circuit that also will be the venue of the 2009 DTM season kick-off, Jarvis was 0.848 seconds faster than his second-placed team-mate, Markus Winkelhock. The top-three were completed by Scotland’s Mercedes-Benz driver Susie Stoddart who was 0.988 seconds slower than Jarvis.
