Christijan Albers will be racing for the Futurecom TME team in the 2008 DTM. The Dutchman has taken up the second cockpit alongside Audi works driver Katherine Legge in the Audi customer team. Albers already took part in the two official DTN test sessions in Mugello and Oschersleben with the 2006-spec Audi A4 DTM.
In the past, Albers already enjoyed a lot of success in the DTM. In total, he competed in 41 races in the most popular international touring car series and scored five victories. In 2003, he finished runner-up in the championship with a Mercedes-Benz, one year later, he ended up third. He started his career in karting. After Formula Ford, Albers stepped up into Formula 3, winning the title in 1999 with six victories and ten pole positions to his tally. After one season in Formula 3000, he switched to Mercedes-Benz to compete in the 2001 DTM and became a test driver for the erstwhile Minardi team. From 2005 till 2007, Albers raced in Formula 1 for Midland and Spyker F1.
