VW Group’s former chief designer has jumped ship – and will be the new Kia global design head. Respected design boss Peter Schreyer will become the global design chief for Kia Motors from September 1. It is considered a bold move from Kia, which is struggling to differentiate its vehicles from sister brand Hyundai. Schreyer will oversee the Kia design centre in Korea as well as regional offices in Frankfurt, Los Angeles and Tokyo. His background at VAG includes a hand in the design of cars like the new VW Beetle and Golf V, Audis from A2 to A8, and the Lamborghini Gallardo and Murcielago.
