This past weekend history was made once again when Audi took the LMP1 and overall victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring, competing with their newly developed R15 diesel prototypes. The race was extremely close with a 22.279 second margin of victory over Peugeot after 12 hours of racing. Audi also won the Michelin Green X Challenge. Introduced at last year’s Petit Le Mans, the Green X Challenge awards vehicles that make the smallest impact on the environment throughout the course of a race. Speed, fuel type and fuel consumption are taken into account.
The win came the night after Audi premiered it’s “Truth in 24″ documentary in the United States on ESPN. The documentary covers Audi’s efforts leading up to and during the 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans.
