Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. officially unveiled the “Automobili Lamborghini Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory” (ACSL) yesterday with an event held at the University of Washington. The unveiling of the lab publicly marks the leading super sports car manufacturer’s commitment to investing in the future of carbon fiber technologies by partnering with leaders in aerospace and composite material development, including University of Washington and The Boeing Company.
Lamborghinis factory in SantAgata Bolognese, is building its fastest car ever the Murcielago SV, of which just 350 will be made. The $450,000 Murcielago SV launches from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.2 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 212 miles per hour. The factory builds the car almost entirely by hand including its engine and body. The car is also painted and assembled by hand, including installation of the famous Lamborghini scissor doors. Every car is custom-built to order, and only 2.7 cars are completed per day.
In the course of the 24h of Spa, the FIA will present the new REITER LP 670 R-SV during a press conference on Friday 24th of July at 6.30 p.m. to the international press.
Last weekend, the restored Vulcan bomber, the only one in the world now flying, lumbered slowly and noisily over my house. And I damn nearly wet myself with excitement. I ran around the garden, clutching at my private parts with one hand, pointing with the other and screaming at the top of my lungs for the children to put down their Facebooks so they could see it too.
I bet things were a good deal less exciting in the cockpit, though. I bet it was hot and squashed in there, and if we’re honest, a bit frightening as well.

Automobili Lamborghini launched its new Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce to the Chinese market today at Shanghai motor show. The Italian marque’s Shanghai motor show presence follows the official opening on Friday 17 April of Lamborghini’s fourth showroom in China.
