Fabio Babini is champion of the 2009 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. The Italian from the Petri Corse team mounted the podium in all three rounds of the season’s finale at Paul Ricard.
In the first race the Italian-French pairing Giorgio Sanna and Romain Bernard was victorious. Babini and his team-mate Claudio Rossetto finished as the runners-up. Third place went to Marc Hayek (Switzerland) and Peter Kox (the Netherlands).
Hayek/Kox improved in the second race and won after 18 laps. Babini/Rossetto took second place, the all-Italian duo Eugenio Amos and Davide Amaduzzi finished third.
The day culminated in victory for Babini/Rossetto in the third round. Amos/Amaduzzi and Hayek/Kox completed the podium.
The final tally of the series reflects 179 points for Babini. Peter Kox (156 points) is the overall runner-up and Jarek Janis with a score of 110 points is third.
