After a sensational inaugural season, the world’s fastest one-make series, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, has announced its race calendar for 2010, which will commence in April in Hockenheim, Germany.
The pan-European series will visit six circuits across the continent, supporting prestigious series such as DTM, FIA GT, Le Mans Series as well as the Italian GT Championship. Again visiting the highly-demanding Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, and Paul Ricard, France, the series will also travel to four new tracks for 2010.
Lamborghini will continue its successful collaboration with the world’s oldest luxury watchmaker Blancpain, bringing together the finest in both automotive and timekeeping engineering. These prestigious brands possess a constant desire for innovation and perfection, which is demonstrated in the on and off-track presence of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo.

Professional and ‘gentlemen’ drivers will battle side-by-side behind-the-wheel of the Super Trofeo race car, a derivative of the road-going Gallardo LP 560-4, equipped with Lamborghini permanent four-wheel drive and a V10 5.2 litre ‘Iniezione Diretta Stratificata’ engine.
Following the highly-competitive 2009 season, the world’s only four-wheel drive mono-marque series will keep its dynamic race format, which comprises of three 40-minute races, a 30-minute qualifying session and free practice, allowing drivers to make full use of the Super Trofeo car over the weekend.

“2009 was an excellent year for the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series: 24 drivers of seven different nationalities secured podium finishes!” said Lamborghini’s Director of Brand and Design, Manfred Fitzgerald. “With competition so close last season, I am confident that 2010 will be even more exciting for drivers, teams and fans as we have added fresh circuits to this year’s calendar.
“The series continues to be a part of Lamborghini’s marketing strategy, with the aim of attracting a new audience to the brand, using motorsport as a marketing platform through which people can create an emotional tie with Lamborghini,” continued Fitzgerald. “It also presents a great opportunity for Lamborghini owners and drivers to get a taste of the glamorous and competitive world of motorsport while feeling the power of the 570 hp Super Trofeo race car, aided by the stability of its four-wheel drive system.”
