VW-Porsche 914 Celebrates 40th Anniversary

VW-Porsche Sales Company established Forty Years Ago

Everything remained very quiet when today’s Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG established VW-Porsche-Vertriebsgesellschaft mbh, the VW-Porsche Sales Company, together with Volkswagenwerk AG, as it was called at the time, in April 1969.

Holding stock capital of DM 5 million, the new company launched the strategy of success for two sports cars still carefully held back from the public pending their final presentation: the VW-Porsche 914 and 914/6.

Quick update

oneighturbo.com is back to its original form. If you see any issues, please contact us. Thanks for your support!

oneighturbo.com is back up and running

Good morning everyone! As you can see we’ve been back up and running for a day or so. Our headache is almost gone and it is now mostly an esthetic issue. Everything is functioning as it should.

We have yet to figure out exactly went wrong. Seemed like a hack but it didn’t at the same time. It did not appear malicious and files/directories were not deleted.

Either way, backup all your stuff. Personal, business, everything! We use the 3x3x3 rule. 3 backups on 3 different types of media and store it at 3 different spots ie: Home, work and personal (bag)

We are going backtrack on some news and will be current from today on.

Thanks for sticking with us! Keep the rubber side down!

NAIAS Detroit 2009: Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI

New Touareg V6 TDI – USA launch with an innovative Clean Diesel

NAIAS Detroit 2009: Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI
  • Touareg V6 TDI is one of the most fuel efficient and cleanest SUVs in the world
  • New Volkswagen SUV reduces fuel costs drastically

Early this year, Volkswagen will already be bringing a new Clean Diesel to the American market in the form of the Touareg. Never before was a Touareg more fuel efficient, never before so clean in emissions and never before so inexpensive to refuel. The 165 kW / 225 PS (at 4,000 rpm) strong Touareg V6 TDI fulfills the strictest emissions standards in the world, including the BIN5 of the states of California, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and Maine. So just like the Jetta TDI already, the new Touareg V6 TDI will be available in all 50 states of the USA. Continue reading ‘NAIAS Detroit 2009: Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI’

Volkswagen starts perfectly to second half of Dakar Rally

Stage 8 ended a bit ago and Volkswagen has once again showed its strengths! A full race report will be up shortly.

Volkswagen started the second week of the Dakar Rally exactly the way the first half on Friday before the rest day had ended: by securing a triple stage victory and maintaining its previous one-two-three lead.

The day’s best result was clinched yet again by Carlos Sainz/Michel Périn (E/F), who scored a fourth stage victory in the Race Touareg, thus further extending his overall lead. Continue reading ‘Volkswagen starts perfectly to second half of Dakar Rally’

Kris Nissen: We need to overcome the Dakar itself first

The first week of the “new” Dakar Rally has been awesome. The South American terrain has upheld the spirit and tenacity that has been built up over the past 30 years. From the Bikes to the Trucks, everyone seems to be enjoying the race and its wonders. Our hearts & prayers go out to Pascal Terry, his family and friends. He passed away sometime between Jan 4th-7th from pulmonary edema. This was his first Dakar.

Volkswagen has started this race with a bang, ith 5 out 7 wins and have held the overall lead for 5 days. Volkswagen will start the second week of the Dakar Rally in Argentina and Chile in the top three positions on the leader board. Here, Kris Nissen gives us a great overview of the past week.

After nearly 24 hours of effective driving time, there are just nine seconds between the current leaders Carlos Sainz/Michel Périn (E/F) and their Volkswagen team colleagues Giniel de Villiers/Dirk von Zitzewitz (ZA/D). The third team driving a Race Touareg with a 280 hp TDI diesel engine, Mark Miller/Ralph Pitchford (USA/ZA), is then just over 13 minutes behind. After the only rest day on this legendary cross-country rally, the fourth Volkswagen pair Dieter Depping/Timo Gottschalk (D/D) will start the first of the next seven legs in ninth place. The ‘Dakar’ finishes where it started, in the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires next Saturday (17 January). Volkswagen can look back on a successful first half of the “Dakar”, with five out of a possible seven leg victories under its belt and having had a Race Touareg in the overall lead on five days.
