JCR Motorsports / Audi R8 LMS ready for Pirelli World Challenge double-header at COTA

JCR Motorsports driver Jeff Courtney will pilot the Kenda/RecStuff.com Audi R8 LMS at Circuit of The Americas for Rounds 4 & 5 of the Pirelli World Challenge championship schedule.

Coming back from an exciting two days of testing in Austin, JCR Motorsports heads into the Circuit of The Americas weekend optimistically, looking to establish two solid finishes at the world-renowned circuit. Courtney will race the Kenda/RecStuff Audi R8 LMS in two 50-minute double-header sprint races, May 18th and 19th, alongside a total of 19 GT class cars entered into the event. Flying Lizard qualifies 4th and 6th in GTC at Laguna Seca

In today’s 15-minute qualifying session for the American Le Mans Monterey race, Spencer Pumpelly claimed the 4th spot on the class grid in the No. 45 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, with Dion von Moltke taking the 6th spot in the sister No. 44 for tomorrow’s 4-hour race. Seth Neiman will turn his first race laps since last year’s Petit Le Mans as he takes the start in the No. 45, with Pierre Ehret starting the No. 44. The No. 44 will race with a two-driver lineup of Dion and Pierre with the No. 45 adding Nelson Canache Jr. along with Spencer and Seth. Audi looks ahead to North American DTM Series in 2016

A new and promising opportunity in motorsport opens up for Audi: as announced at a press conference today in New York, the organizers of NASCAR and GRAND-AM plan a US based race series for DTM racecars like the Audi RS 5 DTM.

To this end, a dedicated platform for the spectacular DTM cars should be in place in the USA by 2016. The responsible parties of the ITR have concluded a corresponding cooperation with their partners in America.
