12 Hours of Sebring 2.5hr report

To start things off, two fan favorite GT teams had the worst of luck. During morning warm up, the no17 Falken Tire Porsche 911 GT3 RSR lost its engine. The team put in an amazing stint and had the new 4.0L six-cylinder engine bolted in, tires on and out to pit lane for the start. After the two and a half hours, Falken Tire sits 13th in class with 53 laps in the books.

During the warmup laps, the no45 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR was rear ended by the no58 Luxury Racing Ferrari. Bergmeister was stuck out on course and had to be towed back with heavy damage to the rear. The team managed to get the 911 GT3 RSR back out an hour after race start.

Not a great way to kickoff 2012.

Audi’s 1-2-3 continues to however it is Mr. LeMans in the no2 R18 TDI 83 laps in. The pole sitting no1 R18 TDI sits second with Benoit Treluyer at the wheel. Audi’s new young gun, Loic Duval, holds down third.

The Muscle Milk HPD ARX-03a looks to be the only LPM1 car to keep pace with the Audi’s. For a brief moment even lead the P1 class.

The Ferrari’s have had their problems after looking strong during yesterdays qualifying.

Leh Keen no022 WeatherTech Porsche was leading the GTC class but ended up having an off at Turn 10 losing a tire in the process.
