Thursday is complete and wow what a crazy one. First, if you didn’t hear the news as of yet, Scott Sharp and the Patron Highcroft Racing Acura went for quite a ride out of turn 1 and into 2. As the Farnbacher Loles Porsche exited pit-row, Scott was coming around and they managed to touch. The result ended in one of the most haunting crashes to date. Hats off to the designers, engineers and all the people who make these cars. Scott Sharp exited the car shortly after and the now famous tub, has become a center piece. We are very happy to see Scott walk away from this. (More from ALMS) The John Brooks has a shot of the Acura on SpeedHunters.com.
On a different note, night practice was amazing! The sights and sounds are breathtaking.

Audi and Peugeot were at it again with the Pugs edging their diesel competition out by 1sec. Franck Montagny hit a 1:07.912 in the #08 with the #07 hitting a 1:08.696 for second. Rinaldo Capello pulled up in third with a 1:09.027 topping Marco Werner with his 1:09.250.
Sascha Maassen, in the Muscle Milk Porsche RS Spyder, scorched through the field with a 1:12.107 to take top honors during the night. Well done.
In GT2, we had a surprise at the top. Dominik Farnbacher dropped the bomb and landed a 1:22.050 in the Panoz Esperante. Wolf Henzler was hot on his tail with a 1:22.070. Third up was the Rizi Ferrari (crap) with a 1:22.101. The #45 Flying Lizard was off-pace in 8th with a 1:22.610. The Falken Tire Porsche reeled up in 10th with their 1:23.202.
The GT2 class is soooo close together 1:22 > 1:25 between 13 cars. The RSR Jaguar was present and we were told will run tomorrow but not race.
See ya in the morning.
