The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship’s top two names, Jason Plato and Matt Neal, say that Brands Hatch in Kent is the ideal circuit for the UK’s premier motor racing spectacle to get its new season under way this coming Sunday (3 April).

The pair, both double champions, are set to renew their long and intense rivalry this weekend at the world-famous circuit near Dartford where a bumper crowd is anticipated – last October, 42,000 people came through the gates to see Plato secure his second BTCC title. Rob Austin is confident that his team’s new NGTC Audi A4 will be on the grid for the opening round at Brands Hatch next weekend. Austin told TouringCarTimes that the car would “definitely” race at the Kent circuit and exuded confidence, despite driver David Pinkney rating the likelihood of an appearance at just 50/50. BTCC: AmD Milltek Golf for Tom Onslow-Cole

AmD Milltek Racing has made the shock announcement that Tom Onslow-Cole will race its VW Golf in 2011’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Onslow-Cole has emerged as one of the BTCC’s top names in recent seasons – last year he emerged as one of four title protagonists in team Aon’s Ford Focus and before that was a race-winner in WSR’s BMW and Triple Eight’s factory Vauxhall Vectra. Rob Austin Racing has confirmed that Dave Pinkney will be joining their squad for the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
