
Timo Scheider (Audi) set the pace in warm-up of the DTM at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. He completed the 3.969 kilometres long lap in the region near Magdeburg in 1:22.635 minutes and thus was 0.173 seconds faster than second-placed Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz). Spengler will be starting from second place on the front row of the grid into the eighth season round, Scheider will be in fourth place on the starting grid at 14.00 h.
Behind Scheider and Spengler, Maro Engel (Mercedes-Benz) and Mike Rockenfeller (Audi) ended up third and fourth with their 2008-spec cars in the 30 minutes’ warm-up on Sunday morning. Paul Di Resta (Mercedes-Benz), who will be starting from pole position into the race, was classified seventh in warm-up behind Oliver Jarvis and Alexandre Prémat (both Audi). Three more Audi drivers, Mattias Ekström, Miguel Molina and Martin Tomczyk, completed the top ten.
The ARD will be broadcasting the eighth DTM season round from Oschersleben live from 13.45 h. The race will start at 14.00 h and will cover 50 laps (184.8 kilometres).
