The 2009 DTM season will be contested by a field of 20 drivers. Czech Tomas Kostka is the last driver to have secured a DTM deal for the forthcoming season and will race a 2007-spec Audi A4 DTM for Team KOLLES Futurecom-BRT. In 2008, the 24 year old secured the title in the Czech Touring Car Championship’s sprint ranking and finished runner-up in the endurance ranking.
In January, Kostka executed his maiden DTM tests – at Almeria – and succeeded in convincing right away. ‘I was truly happy with the tests,’ he said. ‘I quickly realised that there is a major difference between the Audi A4 DTM I had driven in the Czech Championship and the newer spec raced by Team Kolles Futurecom-TME.‘
Apart from Kostka, 18-year old German Johannes Seidlitz and 24-year old Dane Christian Bakkerud also will contest the 2009 season for Team Kolles Futurecom-TME. Boris Bermes, the squad’s Team Manager, announces the line of approach for the season kick-off at Hockenheim: ‘Having been raced for two years, our Audi A4 DTM represents a well-proven racing car. When it comes to the drivers, however, we still have got a lot of potential. First of all we have to focus on making it to the chequered flag.
