Testing is complete, the cars have qualified and the fans have arrived. Final preparations are being completed and everyones focus is beginning to intensify. The 2009 edition of the 24 hour classic will be be starting at 3:30PM instead of 12:00PM as it has the last couple of years. Most teams arrived at the track when the garages opened at 7:00 AM this morning and will not leave until 7:00PM Sunday night when the garages close. Crew members will not take shifts during the race and will be going non-stop until tomorrow night when they finish packing the equipment. The drivers are typically the only members of the team that will work on shifts throughout the race. The race is just as much an endurance sport for the crews as it is for the drivers and vehicles.
