SEAT driver Gabriele Tarquini scored in the first race of the WTCC round in Zolder his third win of the season.
The Italian inherited the victory when his teammate Jordi Gené – who had crossed the finish line first – was excluded after his car failed to pass the technical check because the air restrictor did not conform. Thanks to his sixth place in th second race Tarquini i now second in the World Championship. There was also reason to celebrate for fomer F1 driver Tiago Monteiro. The Portuguese finished the races with his SEAT Leon TDI in forth and third position.
