The readers of “OFF ROAD” trade magazine voted the Porsche Cayenne the “Off-road vehicle of the year” in the “Luxury SUV” category. The choice was between models from eleven manufacturers in this category alone. Porsche’s sporty SUV attracted more than 20 per cent of the votes, putting itself in the lead by a clear margin. Come March, Porsche will be doing somewhat of an about face. The underlying principle of Porsche Intelligent Performance will lead the new models. The Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo will all see better fuel consumption ratings and less CO2 output. Overall weight savings will amount to a sportier drive. The new Tiptronic S eight-speed automatic transmission with Auto Start Stop will also be a featured option. Aggressive new body lines give the Cayenne a great new look.
