Rough Saturday in Lime Rock for Magnus Racing

oneighturbo, LimeRock, Magnus Racing

Saturday’s GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race was short-lived for the No.44 Magnus Racing Porsche Cayman of John Potter and Leh Keen.

John started the race and had a good start, running a pace that would allow the Cayman to utilize a strategy that would put it in good position if the team encountered several periods of yellow flag sessions. Unfortunately, the first yellow of the race would fly for an incident involving John, as he was spun around by another car entering Lime Rock’s Big Bent, and subsequently was hit by another car following.

The damage was extensive, and ended the team’s chances at any kind of good finish. The car was fixed before the end of the race and completed more laps, so the John and Leh should be back at full force for the racing this upcoming weekend at Watkins Glen.
