Mattias Ekström drove a great and controlled race to third place at Hockenheim and thus securing his second DTM-title.
He got a great start and initially took the lead but on a long stint had to surrender first place to Jamie Green about 9 laps into the first stint. Mattias then controlled his second place which he lost to teammate Timo Scheider in the first round of pitstops. But with Tomczyk in trouble on the first lap and with Spengler behind him Mattias could continue to control his third place. Less than a second seperated him in third place and Spengler in fourth place at the finish line.
We will be back during the day with comments from Mattias.
