The beautiful Grid gals at FIA GT1 2011 Autodromo Internacional do Algarve

The battle of the brands resumes in Portugal next weekend when the fifth round of the FIA GT1 World Championship takes place at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve.

The undulating 4.692km (2.915 mile) circuit is known for its roller-coaster layout and provides a stern test for drivers and puts the emphasis on drivability for cars.

Exim Bank Team China Porsche win GT1 at Zolder

The Exim Bank Team China Porsche duo of Matt Halliday (NZL) and Mike Parisy (FRA) produced a superb drive in challenging wet-dry conditions to secure a narrow victory in the Championship Race at Zolder.

Team China Porsche on pole for FIA GT1 Zolder

With the weather conditions changing and the track drying, Exim Bank Team China Porsche made the perfect move to slicks for the final qualifying session. Compared to Nagaro, Zolder has been good to the 911 GT3 R and suits its character white well. In Q1 the team was 5th, Q2 saw them 7th and the gamble paid off with a pole in Q3. Paul Ricard hosts last Euro Round of 2011 Season

FIA GT and FIA GT1 have been racing at Paul Ricard for many years and it is the fitting venue for the final European races before the GT1 World Championship jets off to China and South America for the final three rounds of the 2011 season. Last year Paul Ricard saw a double win for Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini on their way to becoming the inaugural FIA GT1 World Champions but with the Maserati MC12 not on the grid this season the way is open for a crew from another manufacturer to step onto the top step of the podium. The Nissans and Lamborghini’s took top 3 finishes last season, while the Corvette, Aston Martin and the Ford were always in the running for a podium finish. The bull well and truly roared in Navarra this afternoon when the All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport Lamborghinis underlined their total domination of the sixth round with a one-two finish in the Championship Race.

Marcus Winkelhock probably couldn’t ask for more right now. With a great start and avoiding the chaos, Winkelhock was able to weave his way from 12th to 3rd within lap one. FIA GT1: Chaotic qualifying gives All-Inkl Lamborghini consecutive pole at Zolder

Dominik Schwager and Nicky Pastorelli in the No.37 All-Inkl Munnich Motorsport Lamborghini secured their second consecutive pole position in a typically frantic GT1 Qualifying session in Zolder.

Having topped the time sheets in the opening round in Abu Dhabi, the German-Italian duo posted a fastest lap time of 1:27.691. Second was the No.7 Young Driver Aston Martin of Alex Muller and Tomas Enge with the sister Young Driver Aston of Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke third.
