Jeesh, thinking of going to bed and this scare comes across..
The No.2 Audi Sport North America Audi R10 TDI suffered a troublesome pitstop when the rear wheel was not correctly fitted to the car. The mechanic narrowly avoided getting his hand stuck between the wheel and the bodywork of the car. No damage was done, and nobody was hurt. But a couple of seconds were lost on this car which is currently running 3 laps ahead of its sister No.1 Audi Sport North America Audi R10 TDI.
After exiting the car Allan McNish said, “the Peugeot is very fast in the Porsche curves, and obviously has a good chassis, but we are faster overall”.
The two team Total Peugeot’s are currently running third and fourth behind the two leading Audi’s.
