Audi R18 TDI drivers will be able to tweet live from the cockpit as the race around the Le Sarthe circuit. Using the Audi connect system introduced in the Audi A7, wifi will be available to them, keeping you up to date at all corners…
All kidding aside, the R18 TDI will have Audi connect onboard. With racecars getting highly sophisticated now, feedback is of great importance. From tire pressure to brakes, engine mapping to wheel gun torque, it is all monitored. Each time a car passes the pits, high frequency “burst” data recorded is transmitted to the engineers. The scene is set for Zhuhai to become the focal point of the auto industry this weekend with the first-ever Chinese endurance event, the 1000km of Zhuhai, to take place this Sunday, 7 November.
As the final round of the inaugural Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, this race will determine the winners of the first ILMC titles for manufacturers in the prototype categories (LM P1) and GT (LM GT2), and for the teams in each of the four Le Mans categories (LM P1, LM P2, LM GT1 and LM GT2). Our good friend Josh over at Quattroworld.com headed over to Circuit de la Sarthe earlier this month for something called the 24 Hours of Le Mans. On top of that all he brought home was a lousy t-shirt that said….
Just kidding! He brought back some awesome swag from some team who won the race in spectacular fashion. Oh, yes AUDI!! Vorsprung durch Technik reigned supreme and literally demolished the Lion in Peugeot.

Unique Success in Long-Distance Racing
Porsche Works Driver Timo Bernhard (Dittweiler, Germany) is the first racing driver ever to win the four major long-distance classics, thus bringing home a genuine Motorsport Grand Slam: In 2003 Bernhard won the 24 Hours of Daytona at the wheel of his Porsche, from 2006 – 2009 he won the 24 Hours of Nürburgring four times in a row, in 2008 the 12 Hours of Sebring, and on the weekend in an Audi the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Timo Bernhard launched his career as a professional racing driver in the Porsche Junior Team in 1999 and has been a regular member of Porsche’s works driver squad since 2002. (continue reading…)
