
Porsche believes it needs to fill a hole in their product range. This hole exist between the 911 GT2 RS and the 918 Spyder. In their eyes, this would enable them to broaden and sustain growth.

The new Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a monster! With 620hp on board and a weight of 3000 pounds, the GT2 RS quickly roams the Nurburgring in an astonishing 7 minutes and 18 seconds. The power/weight ratio is 4.9 pounds per horsepower. It uses a 3.6L boxer engine with twin turbos matted to a 6-speed manual gearbox. 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in just 9.8 seconds, and 0 to 300 km/h in 28.9 seconds. Top speed is 330 km/h (204.93mph). The GT2 RS will make its world debut at the Moscow Auto Show on August 25th. Limited to 500 units, the GT RS will be available in Europe from September 2010, in the USA from October 2010. (continue reading…)
