VW to decide on North American Audi plant this summer

Volkswagen AG expects to choose a site for Audi’s North American plant by the summer, and locations in Mexico and the United States are in the running, according to Michael Macht, VW’s head of manufacturing.

Volkswagen opts for renewable energy in Brazil

Volkswagen do Brasil is investing 120 million euros in the construction of two hydropower plants. The two plants will have a total rating of 48.2 megawatts and will supply almost 40 percent of the electric power required by the company. Volkswagen Battles Fiat for Supremacy in Rapidly Growing Brazil

Volkswagen AG (VOW) will boost production and add models in Brazil to challenge Fiat SpA (F) for the leading position in the country’s rapidly growing auto market.

Day 1: Skoda’s Jan Kopecky 3rd, Juho Hanninen 4th in IRC Brazilian Rally

The second event of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) series saw an unpleasant weather at the beginning of the race.

The Thursday prologue was cancelled due to persistent and strong rain, and so the competitors only went to the start on Friday morning. Seven speed tests with total length of 97.5 km were scheduled, and although there were concerns about the condition of the road it has almost dried, and the drivers were up to an extraordinarily fast competition where, in their own words, they ‘only’ use the fifth and sixth gear. Design interns from VW Brazil create Volkswagen In micro car concept

We like this! Concept renders always look awesome but this Polo GTI -esque sporting a black roof, hood with a contrasting white body and gray running boards is just beautiful. The aggressive angles become rounded at the points and create a great way for the eye to travel along the lines.


The “Designed Around the Passenger” concept was utilized to optimize the relations between person and car size need for transport. In-wheels electric engines would open the space even more for two people plus bags.

Is it just another “Smart” or TaTa? Sure, but look around you and notice theres usually one person in that huge space they are driving.

Volkswagen will continue to pursue its growth course in Brazil over the coming years.
