Audi has asked a Chinese dealer to remove a banner advocating the murder of Japanese people after a photograph of the sign went viral on the Internet amid escalating tensions between the two countries.
The anti-Japan message captured in the photo of the unidentified dealership doesn’t reflect Audi’s views, said Lu Minjie, a spokeswoman at FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., the venture that makes Audi-brand cars in China. Continue reading ‘Audi China dealer told to ditch banner’
The Volkswagen Group increased vehicle deliveries yet again during the first half of 2012. A total of 4.45 (January – June 2011: 4.09; +8.9 percent)* million vehicles were handed over to customers worldwide in the period from January to June. The month of June was equally positive, with deliveries running at 798,500 (June 2011: 719,400; +11.0 percent)* units. “Deliveries by the Volkswagen Group developed very well in the first half of the year. But that is by no means cause for euphoria. Automobili Lamborghini officially opened two new dealerships in China. The first, in Chongqing, marks the second dealer in western China and continues the brand’s important expansion in the region. It was a strong showing for the Audi R8 LMS in its debut race in the ILMC series. Darrel O’Young brought the no98 Audi Sport C Racing R8 LMS across the line to win the 6 Hours of Zhuhai. Heading in to the final round of the 2011 ILMC series, Peugeot has shown it has the upper hand at Zhuhai. The 908′s have been swapping the top two positions during all practice sessions and now qualifying.

Although a bit slower than the first session, both Peugeot 908′s topped the timing chart again. It would also end up in the same order. A change in the weather proceeded the first practice from Zhuhai this morning. Peugeot held a 1-2 after a red-flag put a halt on the session.
