‘BlueMotion’ is the best known German automotive environmental label. It debuted in 2006 with the first generation of the Polo BlueMotion, and its combined fuel con sumption figure of just 3.9 litres per 100 kilometres was the best in the world for a five-seat car. At the same time, this Polo represented the beginning of a product offensive being conducted today under the ‘BlueMotion-Technologies’ umbrella brand, which is as unique as it is successful. Kurt Gensheimer has a great review on the 2009 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 TDI. It actually is one of the better written reviews too! Yes it’s on a Touareg but it really pulls out the key facts and is non-biased. He only gives it one “ding” on the fact it has no third row seating but later follows it up with reasoning. A must read for those who are looking at TDI in general or this particular model.
Great read, gallery and more.

We Americans are stubborn folk. Once we make up our mind on a topic, there’s no going back no matter what. Want proof? Take for instance the antiquated opinion most Americans still have about diesel cars. Despite the horrible reputation of stench, pollution, gutlessness and noise that diesels built for themselves in the past, based on the sales of diesel cars in America today, we still can’t seem to get past this old – and now completely unwarranted – reputation.
Repeat after me – ‘Diesel are powerful, clean, fuel efficient and quiet.’ Say it again. Then keep saying it until you actually believe it and would consider buying a diesel as your next vehicle.
