Porsche works pilots Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Pilet planted their Porsche 911 RSR on the sixth grid spot in the GTE-Pro class. For Saturday’s race, they share the cockpit of the no91 car with Timo Bernhard. Their works driver colleagues Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas take up the race one position behind them. The second race of the 2013 FIA WEC season take place this weekend with the 6 hours of Spa-Francorchamps. 35 entries make up this weekends event with Audi entering a third Audi R18 e-tron quattro in a longtail (low downforce) configuration. We are pleased to announce we will be releasing full Spotter Guides for the remaining World Endurance Championship rounds, thanks to EYECOON, one of the title sponsors of the Felbermayr-Proton Team.
The Silverstone guide features all 35 entries including the no1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro with Andre Lotterer, Marcel Fassler and Benoit Treluyer. Audi will also have the no2 Audi R18 Ultra with Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen at the wheel.
In GT there will be three Porsche running. Felbermayr-Proton will have the GT-Pro no77 911 GT3 RSR with Richard Lietz and Marc Lieb driving. The GTE-Am no88 911 GT3 RSR will be piloted by Christian Reid, Gianluca Rode and Paolo Ruberti.

Less than four minutes were missing for Porsche to clinch its 99th class win at the Le Mans 24 Hours. With the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR fielded by the IMSA Performance Matmut team, Frenchman Nicolas Armindo, Raymond Narac and Anthony Pons had led the field just a few laps before the flag dropped on the 80th running of the long distance classic in the Sarthe. But in the final minutes, tyre damage robbed the 2011-spec 911 of all hopes for victory. Nevertheless, the joy over second place was huge for the French Porsche customer team. Earlier this week, Flying Lizard Motorsports announced that Patrick Pilet would fill in for Darren Law. With Law out due to scheduling conflicts, Pilet would share the no79 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR with Seth Neiman and Atlanta’s Spencer Pumpelly.

The Le Mans 24 hour race is legendary and is the greatest challenge that motorsport has to offer. Many Porsche customer teams from Europe and the USA will tackle the 80th running of this long distance classic in the Sarthe department on 16/17 June. Porsche works drivers and double Le Mans class winners Marc Lieb (Germany) and Richard Lietz (Austria) will also be racing for points in the new World Endurance Championship with the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR fielded by Felbermayr-Proton.
