
Once again the team of Marco Bonanomi and Andrea Sonvico landed on top of the podium in Race 2. The no33 Audi R8 LMS GT3 team also lead the sister R8 LMS of Dindo Capello and Alessandro Cicognani across the line for the second time. A 1:35.899 was two seconds faster than anyone else. Another excellent results for Audi this weekend, this time in the Italian GT. After claiming a 1-2 in qualifying agaijst the Lamborghini’s, Audi Sport Italy went on to score a 1-2 in the season opener in Vallelunga. The team of Marco Bonanomi and Andrea Sonvico would lead the no33 Audi R8 LMS GT3 across the line ahead of Dindo Capello and Andrea Cicognani in the no32. Team Audi Sport Italia recorded the first Audi R8 LMS victory in the Italian GT3 Championship finale at Monza. Dindo Capello and his Portuguese team mate Filipe Albuquerque triumphed in the first race from third on the grid. They finished the second race in second position.

For a one-off event Portugal’s Filipe Albuquerque took over Dindo Capello into Audi Sport Italia’s R8 LMS cockpit, as the 3-time Le Mans winner had his hand full at Road Atlanta on the same weekend. It turned out that the young single-seater driver on his debut GT race could not even take the wheel for Race 1, since on Saturday his team mate was beached into the gravel trap at the Luco-Poggio Secco esses in a Lap 1 melee.

At Misano, Dindo Capello and Giorgio Sanna in the Audi R8 LMS of Audi Sport Italia clinched another podium result in the Italian GT Championship. In the first of the two races the two Italians barely missed victory. On the starting lap of the second race Dindo Capello was entangled in a mass collision and forced to retire. As a result, Capello/Sanna dropped to third place in the overall classification.

Dindo Capello and Giorgio Sanna immediately grabbed a podium result at the debut of the Audi R8 LMS in the Italian GT Championship.
After fifth place in the first race, in which the team of Audi Sport Italia had switched from slicks to wets shortly before race end, Capello and Sanna finished the second round that was a rain race through and through as the runners-up.
