Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series comes to U.S in June

We’ve been covering the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series since its start in 2009. Luc Peuters, our european photog, has brought you some amazing shots of the carbon-fiber Bulls. That’s as close as we’ve come on American soil to seeing these exotic beast. Wait no more!

On top of todays, United SportsCar reveal, Lamborghini announced it will launch a specific North American Series sanctioned by IMSA. Pro-Am drivers, taming the V10 Gallardo LP 570-4′s, during two 50 minute races. We like it. Flying Lizards win GT at Lime Rock

Patrick Long and Joerg Bergmeister brought the No. 45 in for the GT win at today’s Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park. It’s the first win – and the first podium finish – for the Lizards this year. It’s the team’s fifth win at Lime Rock since 2004. Sister Porsche No. 44 finished ninth in class in the 2 hour and 45 minute race.

Team Falken take chances on tires at Lime Rock Park

Round 4 of the American Le Mans Series presented by Patron was a bittersweet event for the Team Falken Tire. Accelerated shoulder wear on the left rear tire due to heavy load forced the team to pit and change tires more often than expected, costing the team the opportunity to move up through the GT field. The team stayed ahead of four other cars to finish seventh in the GT class.

Marco Holzner sets no44 on first row at Lime Rock Park

Patrick Long brought the No. 45 in fourth with a time of 51.483 in today’s GT qualifying for the 2012 Northeast Grand Prix, which gets the green flag this Saturday, July 7 at Lime Rock Park. In the No. 44 Flying Lizard Porsche, Marco Holzer clocked the second fastest GT time of 51.299 in the qualifying session but the car did not meet the ride height minimum during post-qualifying technical inspection. As a result, the No. 44 will start from the rear of the grid. The No. 55 BMW is on the GT pole.

Flying Lizard returns to Lime Rock Park this weekend

Last year saw a wet ALMS Lime Rock Park for the Flying Lizards no44

The Lizards are back in the U.S. for round four of the ALMS season, the 2012 Northeast Grand Prix, which gets the green flag this Saturday, July 7 at Lime Rock Park. The Lime Rock race follows closely on the heels of the 24 Heures du Mans, in which the Lizards finished fourth in GTE Am in the No. 79 Porsche (read the Le Mans race report). For this Saturday’s race, the driver lineup will be Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long in the No. 45 Flying Lizard Porsche and Seth Neiman and Marco Holzer in the No. 44.
