The American-owned team claimed two, top-10 placings in the two final rounds of the 12-race series which began in May – just two months after the American-owned, British-based outfit was formed – at the historic 2.492-mile track in Heusden-Zolder near Brussels.
United Autosports, which will contest the 2011 FIA GT3 European Championship with two Audi R8 LMS sports cars, finished 12th in the FIA GT3 Teams Championship. Over 200 guests were in attendance at the lavish Audi Centre in England, the largest in the world, including Bernie Ecclestone, President and CEO of Formula One Management and Formula One Administration. Matthew Bell has been drafted into United Autosports’ driver line-up for its maiden FIA GT3 European Championship campaign this season.
The 20-year-old Briton has been selected by United Autosports’ co-owners, Zak Brown and Richard Dean, to deputize for Pablo Pérez Companc in the newly-formed Audi “customer” team due to the Argentinean’s long-term injury. (continue reading…)

Richard Dean, managing director and co-owner of United Autosports along with American Zak Brown, has been drafted in to the driver line-up for its maiden race event. Dean somewhat fittingly replaces the convalescing Argentinian, Pablo Pérez Companc, in the newly-formed team and will co-drive the Remington Audi R8 LMS with regular driver Brown in a one-off race appearance. American Zak Brown (Carmel, IN), the Chairman and Co-Owner of United Autosports, and Argentinean Pablo Pérez Companc drove their Remington sponsored #23 Audi with Michael Guasch (Walnut Creek, CA) the sole driver of the ‘sister’ #22 Molecule R8 LMS.
