The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is the most successful race car in the world. Since 1998, 2,395 units of the near standard vehicle for customer sport were produced. The new edition of the 911 GT3 Cup is the motorsports version of the future 911 GT3 and as such is the first race car that is based on the seventh generation of the sports car icon from Zuffenhausen. The 911 GT3 Cup will be run exclusively in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in 2013. The car for one-make racing made its debut on the occasion of the end of motorsport season “Night of Champions” celebration at the R&D Centre in Weissach. Sitting alongside of the GUMPERT apollo enraged was its alter ego, the GUMPERT apollo r. This time the team took the same 4.2 liter V8 added a higher supercharging pressure, timing adjustments and other mods. This plus optimizing the exterior body for stronger airflow and air-intake allowed the apollo r to achieve 860hp. A higher flowing race exhaust carries the fumes outback and to your competition. The two Boxster E prototypes which Porsche showed off at the Michelin Challenge Bibendum in Berlin last week have proved to be a real attraction to the public. At this forum for sustainable mobility, which was staged for the eleventh time this year, representatives from politics, industry, trade and research discussed the environmentally-friendly mobility and vehicle concepts of the future. The trips in the electric Boxsters were in particular demand amongst the expert audience. On a sporty circuit, the vehicles demonstrated that a Boxster with electric drive still remains a genuine Porsche in terms of driving dynamics. In the wake of the GT3 R Hybrid, 918 Spyder and 918 RSR, the Boxster E is yet another sports car concept exhibiting the brand’s characteristic combination of research and driving pleasure. Future mobility is one of the most stimulating topics of our time. The key question here: Just how much could the energy consumption of cars be reduced if all the stops were pulled out for efficiency? There is now an answer to this question, and Volkswagen is delivering it in the form of the new XL1. Combined fuel consumption: 0.9 l/100 km. No other hybrid car powered by an electric motor / internal combustion engine combination is more fuel efficient. RS Spyder has the best overall efficiency of all participants

The Porsche RS Spyder achieved another double victory in a second discipline at the Le Mans 24 hour race: The sports prototype claimed first and second in the ‘Michelin Energy Endurance Challenge Trophy’ as the vehicle with the best overall efficiency. The classification is based on a formula with factors including fuel consumption, vehicle weight and average speed. The double victory of the RS Spyder in the LMP2 class at the 24 hour race signifies a double success over all other opponents, as all four classes are classified equally in the Michelin Challenge. This means that the petrol-powered RS Spyder was substantially more efficient at the 24 Hours of Le Mans than the diesel-powered vehicles in the more powerful LMP1 class.
