You’re the new sporting director at Audi race experience. What are your responsibilities?

“Obviously, I’m not entirely unfamiliar with the Audi race experience. I’ve been working as an instructor for Audi’s large number of sporting customers ever since the program was incepted. I’m delighted that in 2012 Audi entrusted me to run the entire program. My task now is to offer our customers a perfect environment with a professional race team and to ensure an unforgettable experience for them. Coming off a strong showing at Zhuhai in the GTC class, Audi has just unveiled the new R8 LMS ultra for the 2012 racing season. How do you improve on a racecar with such a short, successful career? You focus on the technical aspects. A new exhaust system helps the 570hp V10 sing even more now. The transmission is now suited better for the endurance areas. We all know cooler oil and air mean performance and Audi went to work on those points as well. Read on for more on the suspension and chassis updates as well. Three Volkswagen Golf24’s to tackle 2011 Nurburgring 24 Hour

Days away from the start of the 39th running of the Nurburgring 24 Hour, Volkswagen gives us a glimpse of the three factory 450-hp Golf24’s that will race this weekend. We are a few days out from this years 39th running of the 24 Hour Nurburgring race. Falken Motorsports Europe has posted another excellent video. For those not familiar with the teams, there is one based out of California and the team running in Europe that is based out of Japan. This is also a GT3 R vs the RSR in the ALMS. Volkswagen has been hard at work testing the 440hp Golf24 over the past month. A few weeks ago, we brought you video’s of the Golf24 turning these laps. The speed and sound are amazing. With the first round of the VLN series complete, Volkswagen will look to enter a few rounds to test competitive conditions before the 24 hour. Hans-Joachim Stuck announces 24hr Nurburgring entry with sons

During yesterdays VLN’s opening round at the Nurburgring, Hans-Joachim Stuck announced the Stuck family entry for this years 24 hour race in June. The 60 year old father will join his two sons, Johannes and Ferdinand in a Lamborghini Gallardo from Reiter Engineering. In the past few days, videos of the Golf24 from the Nurburgring have been showing up on YouTube. We showed you the images when it was announced but now you can! The speed and sound are (a good) hellacious! This thing is serious business and it looks like VW is going for a huge result. The Golf24 is pushing 440hp 2.5L w/ 540tq. DTM: Mike Rockenfeller moving up amongst the Audi family

The 2011 motorsport season starts under new circumstances for Mike Rockenfeller. The 27-year old Audi factory driver moves to Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline and drives the latest evolution of the A4 DTM (“R14 plus”) for the first time. He also contests a sportscar program in parallel with the R15 TDI and the R18 as well as the Nürburgring 24 Hours. Sixteen race weekends and also the Le Mans test day are on his calendar this year.
