In the first seven months of the year, the SKODA brand has delivered 523,200 vehicles worldwide (January – July 2010: 437,300 vehicles). Thus, the Czech automobile manufacturer was able to increase its sales 19.7 percent in comparison to the previous year and for the first time ever delivered more than 500,000 vehicles by July. At the same time, SKODA achieved a new record for the month of July with 68,500 sold units (last year: 58,500). Skoda Auto is introducing its complete all-wheel model range within the framework of an international media presentation. From January 24th to February 4th, 2011, 180 journalists from 17 countries will have the opportunity to subject the Czech manufacturer’s popular all-wheel vehicles to thorough test drives. Volkswagen Group continued its success story in India with the company delivering its best sales figures in the Indian market since entry. The Volkswagen Group which is present in India with the three brands – Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen – achieved an extraordinary growth in deliveries to customers of 180.7 per cent in the period January to December 2010. The three brands together delivered in total 53,341 vehicles to customers in 2010 as compared to 19,001 cars in 2009. The Volkswagen Group significantly increased its profitability in the first nine months of 2010 and further expanded its strong position in the international automotive markets. The number of vehicles delivered rose by 12.9 percent to 5.4 million (January – September 2009: 4.8 million), a new delivery record for the Group. Volkswagen’s global market share climbed to 11.6 percent (11.5 percent). Sales revenue was up by 19.9 percent to €92.5 billion (€77.2 billion) in the reporting period, while operating profit exceeded the weak prior-year period by €3.3 billion, amounting to €4.8 billion (€1.5 billion). Škoda Auto continued growing in July 2010. The number of vehicles delivered to customers from the beginning of this year has been increasing constantly, reaching 437,260 as at 31 July, 2010, i.e., 13.4 % more than last year.
