Looks liek Alexandre has some skills and history. Even though he was with Spyker on the F1 side of things he may have experience with the Audi engines in the Le Mans Spykers!
Alexandre Prémat isn’t superstitious but has got a special ritual, nevertheless: “I use to wash my helmet prior to every race,” reveals the young Frenchman who doesn’t look like the typical racing driver, at first sight. With the washed helmet on his head, however, he is one of the quickest. Prémat has made his mark in single-seater racing. He was runner-up in the Formula 3 Euro Series, won in Macau, helped France to win the nations title in the A1 Grand Prix Series and for two years, he battled for the title in the GP2 – as team-mate of up-and-coming stars Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton who are racing in Formula 1, today.

As third driver for Team Spyker, Prémat also has gathered some F1 experience. Now, he dabbles in DTM and dreams of contesting the Le Mans 24-Hour Race. For him as a Frenchman, Le Mans represents the greatest race of the world and he regards seven-time le Mans winner Tom Kristensen as best racing driver of all times. Being a DTM newcomer, he now looks forward to the hard on-track battles and the cooperation with the Audi-Sport technicians.
Hadn’t he succeeded in becoming a racing driver he might be a race engineer himself, today, as he was born with the motor-racing enthusiasm in his genes: his father also worked in the sport and even contested the Dakar Rally. Hence, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Alexandre met his companion in life, Cléo, at a racetrack.
And his goals for his inaugural DTM season? “To learn as quickly as possible and help Audi to win the title.”
