Night of “Driving Ideas”: Eight world premieres at one go
Wolfsburg, 10 September 2007 – This evening, on the eve of the 62nd International Auto Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, the Volkswagen Group presented eight world premieres. The cars introduced under the company’s “Driving Ideas” slogan impressively reflected the Group’s unique range of brands and models. The new Audi A4, the Volkswagen up! micro car study and the Seat Tribu SUV concept car were among the stars of the evening.
“This year the Volkswagen Group,” according to CEO Dr Martin Winterkorn, “will be selling over six million vehicles for the first time. We want to intensify this course in the future. With new, exciting and fascinating cars from all eight group brands. Cars that make people enjoy mobility. From an alliance of brands that have reached all conceivable target groups.”
This evening the company showed a cross section of this gripping automotive series. Volkswagen unveiled the up! – the study of an economical city specialist. In a world exclusive Audi presented the new A4 – a sedan that will change the middle class with technologies from the luxury class. Lamborghini sent the Reventón to Frankfurt – the most extreme and exclusive Lamborghini of all time. Volkswagen Utility Vehicles presented the Caddy Maxi – a congenial space-saving miracle for little money. Bugatti unveiled the EB 16.4 Veyron Pur Sang – design and technology merge here into an automotive work of art. Skoda brought along the new Fabia Combi – another facet of affordable versatility. Bently did the honours with the GT Speed – the exceptional Grand Tourer will be the sportiest way to drive a Continental from now on. Seat showed emotion with the Tribu – an SUV with Spanish fire. Eight new cars, eight “Driving Ideas”.
